50 Word Short Stories

This forum topic is for any and all short stories written with 50 or fewer words. Post that do not contain stories or stories that exceed 50 words will be removed.

She needs to hear his laughter at least once. She needs it so much her stomach hurts. Of course, she can't hear it. I'll let you imagine why, he left her, he died, he never existed or she hasn't met him yet. It doesn't matter. It just hurts.

Years went by, but I didn't need to ask for help, I found it all by myself. Broadway, almost at the top of Capitol Hill. Feels home for no good reason. I should now turn left and follow my memories until I have no choice but to create new ones.

He didn't know where he was. He didn't know what he was doing. The sound of a thousand lost arguments echoed inside his head. He'd lost his girl, his home, his job. Now he was here, staring out to sea at the sunset and... life wasn't so bad.

The angst welled up inside her, trembling the pen as she touched it to paper; an attempt to nail down her inner turmoil.

The rubber ball bouncing off her head killed her concentration.

"Will you stop doing that!" she snapped.

"But then where will you get your angst?" he replied.

"It's a brilliant idea," said his teacher.

"Then you think I should write it?" said her pupil.

"No."

"No?"

"No."

"Why not?"

"Because realising a story that depressing will sicken your mind and leave you a neurotic wreck. Write the one about the talking chimp instead."

Betty’s keys fell off her pocket. She bent down to pick them up, heard a tearing sound and her butt felt instantly colder. Mortified, she decided to continue walking on the large and crowded street to get home faster and promised herself she would always wear something under her jeans in the future.

“Saving money is good for your life” said father to his son when they were on a boat. Sunddenly, the captain warned “ A big wave in front of us”. Then immediately the father fallen. His son shouted “1000 dollars for helping”. “Only one” said he. But no one replied.
